Hi Lykkers! When it comes to my night routine, I really enjoy doing a double cleanse. The first cleanse is mainly for breaking down makeup, sunscreen, and the day's buildup, then my second cleanser can focus on actually cleansing my skin.
I recently finished my Dermalogica PreCleanse after using it for quite a while, and I've now started using the Versed cleansing balm. For a first cleanse, I usually go between cleansing oils and cleansing balms. I used to reach for oils almost exclusively, but lately I've been really into balms. Both can work well, so it mostly comes down to which texture you prefer.
DERMALOGICA PRECLEANSE — $49
Cleansing oils are just so easy to work with. Since this one already has an oily texture, it spreads easily and quickly breaks down makeup without requiring much effort. I especially like it when I'm in a hurry because it makes the first step of my double cleanse feel really quick. The main downside is the price. At $49, it's definitely more of a splurge, but one bottle does last me quite a while.
VERSED DAY DISSOLVE — $17.99
First of all, the packaging is so cute. But beyond that, I was really interested in this one because of the price. At $17.99, it's a much more affordable option compared with the Dermalogica PreCleanse. I've tried cleansing balms before that left me feeling like they didn't completely dissolve everything, so I was a little picky about what I wanted from this one. So far, though, I really like how it cleanses. It melts down nicely and doesn't give me that feeling of still having makeup left behind.
I'm still a fan of both cleansing oils and balms, but lately, Versed Day Dissolve has been winning me over. Dermalogica PreCleanse is great when I want something quick and don't mind spending more, while Versed gives me an affordable balm option that gets the job done. Right now, I'm happy having both types in my routine.
